Background
Kate Clarkson set up the CMT unit in 2004 after running a successful own label for 7 years and seeing the gap in the market for good quality, reliable small run CMT for designers. Using her experience and knowledge of the design and production industry she has been able to move her business from London back to her native Pembrokeshire and build a strong team of skilled workers who understand her passion for providing an excellent CMT service.

We are a sampling and production unit specialising in women’s wear soft separates for the designer ready-to-wear market.

With a background in design and experience in dealing with designers and buyers we understand a designers requirements regarding high quality and tight deadlines.

Dresses tops and skirts are our main field although we have also produced many other items from bespoke cushions, eye-masks, soft structured bags, underwear and wedding dresses.

Minimums
Small run quantities from 5 to 250 units. Up to 5 units is classed as sampling and charged accordingly.

Patterns can be produced but we prefer to work from patterns and toiles/rough samples due to our busy schedule and the fact that first sample costings and based on time taken to create.

Pricing
Costing for production is worked out by making a sample first. There is no set price for a dress etc as designs vary in detail and time taken to cut/sew.

Production needs to be booked in advance to make sure enough time is allocated to your docket in order to meet your deadline.

We can work with a variety of fabrics including: silk (woven and jersey), cotton, linen, viscose, jerseys, worsted wool, wool blends and others.

Machinery:
Flat beds - lockstitch x 4 (with binding, piping pin hemming attachments if required)
Overlockers – 3 thread, 4 thread, 5 thread
Coverseam (narrow or wide needle settings)
Super lock (also known as baby lock)
